Creative Paints
Try these fun additions to up your art game!
To one pint of tempera paint add the following ingredients to alter the paint consistency:
- Slimy Paint- Add 2 tablespoons of Karo syrup
- Gritty Paint- Add 1/2 teaspoon of sand
- Slippery Paint- Add 1 teaspoon of glycerin
- Lumpy Paint- Add 1 tablespoon of flour
- Rough Paint- Add 1 tablespoon of sawdust (go to your local lumbar company)
- Shiny Paint- Add 1/2 cup of sugar
- Sparkly Paint- Add 1/2 cup of salt (use immediately)
- Creamy Paint- Add 1/4 cup of liquid starch
- Transparent Paint- Add 2 tablespoons of hair gel
- Thick Paint- Mix 3 parts powder to 1 part water
Helpful hints:
*You may choose to add liquid soap to all paints to make it easier to remove from clothes
** Add 1 teaspoon of alcohol to prevent paint from going sour.
